Spencesolutions is the portfolio of Web Designer Paul Spence. Based in East Linton, East Lothian I have built websites for a number of businesses around Edinburgh and the Lothian's.
I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Multimedia Technology from Napier University and I have been putting my knowledge to good use by taking on freelance projects to help build my portfolio and gain experience with a look to obtaining a work placement or full time employment in the industry.
I am fully versed in the design process and have several projects to draw experience from. I feel that I could hit the ground running in any project or employment oppertunity and would be an asset to any business or design agency.
I like to plan my projects with a pencil and paper, use wireframes to sort out the information architecture, build prototypes in Photoshop, export and optimise images using fireworks, then I like to hand code the HTML and CSS inside Dreamweaver.
current project
The Crown is a five bedroomed Georgian hotel dating back to the 1700's. It is set in a lovely Scottish conservation village about 20 miles from Edinburgh. It also serves as the local free house to many of East Linton's residents (inc. myself!)
The current Crown website needed updating and the new site had to be easy to maintain. My solution is to use a small CMS i.e Perch CMS to enable a quick and easy update of the content and a general facelift of the current design.
